How much are Delta SkyMiles worth?
Our working estimate is 1.19 cents per SkyMile. At that rate, 10,000 miles are worth about $119, 50,000 miles are worth about $595, and 100,000 miles are worth about $1,190.
This is an estimate rather than a fixed Delta exchange rate. Award prices vary by route, date, cabin, and demand. For a specific trip, the award-flight calculator provides a more useful comparison.
| SkyMiles | At 1.00¢ | At 1.19¢ | At 1.50¢ |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10,000 | $100 | $119 | $150 |
| 25,000 | $250 | $297.50 | $375 |
| 50,000 | $500 | $595 | $750 |

| 100,000 | $1,000 | $1,190 | $1,500 |
What is a good SkyMiles redemption?
A redemption above 1.19 cents per mile beats our benchmark. Around 1.00 cent per mile may still be reasonable when convenience or preserving cash matters. A redemption of 1.50 cents per mile or more is strong.
Frequently asked questions
Why subtract award taxes and fees?
Those charges reduce the cash saved by using miles, so they should be deducted from the comparable ticket price.
Does TakeOff 15 improve the value?
Yes. When eligible, using fewer miles for the same flight increases the cents-per-mile value. Taxes and fees are not reduced.
Does this include miles earned on a paid ticket?
No. A paid ticket may also earn redeemable miles and Medallion Qualification Dollars, which can make cash slightly more attractive in a close comparison.
